Real name and origin

Babbu Maan’s real name is Tejinder Singh Maan, he was born in Khant Manpur village in Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab. It is said that Babbu Maan was thrown out of his house by his father because of his love for singing. He’s worked hard and has become such a great personality, recognized by the whole country and Punjabis worldwide.


Since starting his career in 1998, Babbu Maan has released eleven albums and six compilation albums; the latest one being Teri Yaad Aati Hai that launched in February 2018. In fact, he has also written screenplays, acted in and produced many Punjabi films. He has also produced Bollywood film soundtracks. The most famous being Challa from the movie Crook.

Earlier life

Babbu Maan ji was fond of playing music since his childhood. He performed on the stage for the first time in a school function, at the age of seven. At the age of 16, he started writing his own lyrics.

Babbu Maan became a star overnight after releasing his third album Saun Di Jhadi, featuring many popular songs.
